He was born Aug. 4, 1937 in Jonesboro, AR. to Leon and Beatrice (Matthews) Mitchell. They preceded him in death along with one brother, Leon Grant Mitchell.
Survivors include one sister, Diana Hoepfner of Tampa, FL, two nephews: Randal (Cindy) Hoepfner of Marietta, GA, Larry (Molly) Hoepfner of Mount Gilead, OH, two nieces: Norma L. Anderson of Peoria, Suzanne Mitchell of Fort Worth, TX, and several great-nieces and nephews.
Bob worked for the Peoria & Pekin Union Railway for over 35 years. Following his retirement from the Railroad, Bob volunteered at Proctor Hospital and then worked in the Hospitality Department at OSF.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
