He was born on May 27, 1937, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Rev. Orville and Hazel (Wood) Price. On July 6, 1956, he married Dorothy Wilcox in Peoria, and they shared nearly 60 years together before her passing on April 27, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one great-grandson, Jeremiah Price.
Ron is survived by his children, Donna (Ken) Cady of Brimfield, Melinda (Steve) Brownell of Chillicothe, and Ronald (Traci) Price Jr. of Peoria; four grandchildren, Chris Cady, Courtney (Daniel) Dingledine, Ronald (Ellen) Price III and Justin (Samantha) Price ; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
He retired from Dooley Brothers where he was a truck driver. After retirement, he enjoyed lawn mower repair, lending a hand to neighbors and friends whenever they needed help. More than anything, Ron loved fishing. It was not just a pastime, but a way of life for him and his family. He loved spending time by the water and passed that love on to his children, who spent countless hours fishing and camping with him and their mom during their childhood. Those memories remain some of their most treasured.
Ron was a great man and an incredible father and grandfather.
