

Rose L Morris, 73, of Peoria passed away at 11pm Friday, January 22, 2016 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oaklawn, IL. She was born November 23, 1942 in Madisonville, Kentucky the daughter of Simon and Pearline Christian Childress. Rose is survived by her children, Shenita Welch of Indiana, and Charles (Kimberly) Williams of Peoria; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; five sisters, Pauline Littlejohn of Michigan, Dorothy Moore of Kentucky, Viola Hall of Michigan, Annette Rorer of Peoria, Mary (Richard) Palmer of California; one brother, John (Linda) Childress of Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter, Charles, Eddie; and one sister Susie. Rose was a mail processor at Illinois Central College for 27 years. She was an election judge for over 10 years. Rose was a teacher for the Community Action Agency Head Start Program. She was a member of Star of Hope Full Gospel Church. Rose had been director and pastor of children’s church for over 30 years. Funeral services will be at Star of Hope Full Gospel Church at 6:45 pm Sunday, January 31, 2016. Praise service will begin at 6pm. Bishop Joseph H Johnson will officiate. Entombment will be in Parkview Cemetery, February 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to her church nursery.
