

She was born March 12, 1922 in Peoria, a daughter of Robert and Frances Bone Brown. She married Harold Kohl Sr. in October of 1938. He died in July of 1989. She later married Meryl Kidd.
Surviving are four children, Harold (Joy) Kohl Jr. of East Peoria, Josephine (Forrest) Johnson of Peoria, Albert (Jeanie) Kohl of Peoria, Eva (Lloyd) Yocum of Bartonville; two sisters, Helen Harness of Carrier Mills, Virginia LaJoy of Hannibal, MO; seven grandchildren, Billy Kohl, Teresa (Jeff) Braun, Jeff Kohl, Michelle Dick, Brian (Julee) Kohl, Ginger (Jason) Menees, Kirk Yocum; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and her youngest son, Frank Kohl.
She was a homemaker. In her later years, she was very active with many hobbies and interests. Her favorite pastimes were dancing and traveling. She would frequently follow her favorite bands and enjoyed many short trips to various locations. She was a member of the American Legion and spent a great deal of time at the Peoria Neighborhood House as a member and/or officer of several clubs and groups including the Quilting Club, Travel Club and Card Club.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
