Born Oct. 3, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to Fielden and Bessie (Talent) Harris. He married Eileen Hayden on Nov. 2, 1950. She preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 2008. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Gail on Aug. 27, 2005.
Surviving are his daughter, Jill (Arthur) Stomberg of Germantown Hills; grandson, Nicholas Steff of FL; two brothers, Gareth and Glenn both of IL; and sister, Loretta of OK.
Russell worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 45 years before retiring. He was a Korean War Army veteran, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Washington.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with family friend Greg Boyd officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Chapel. Entombment with Military Honors will be at Parkview Cemetery Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in Peoria.
