He was the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Castilow) Hores of Bridgeport, Ohio.
Russell is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Hores; brothers, Kenneth and George Hores; and sisters, Mary Garnell Thompson and Betty Lou Shurtz.
He was employed by Columbia Gas in Wheeling where he retired after 40 years. Russell served as the chief of Bridgeport Fire Department for 26 years and served in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Bridgeport, Ohio.
Russell is survived by two children: Joseph (Kimberly) Hores of Peoria, Illinois and Penny Hores of Bridgeport, Ohio; sister, Rose Brumback of Amsterdam, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
At Russell's request, no services will be held at this time.
