

She was born on November 10, 1936, in Chennai, India, to Gowri and Chinnasamy, and grew up in a loving family alongside her two brothers and three sisters. Saraswathi was a gifted artist and musician whose talents enriched the lives of many. She earned recognition as a singer with All India Radio, sharing her melodious voice with a wide audience. She was an accomplished artist, celebrated for her exquisite Tanjore paintings and her intricate, vibrant rangoli designs. Her creativity left a lasting impression, and her works continue to be fondly remembered and admired by friends and their families.
She was married to Professor Dr. V. Seshadri for 56 years, who passed away 8 years ago on May 20th, 2018. Together, they raised their son, Seshadri Guha, who carries forward her values and spirit. She found immense joy in her grandchildren, Prashant and Kripa Guha.
Saraswathi embodied generosity and was actively engaged with organizations like Shankara School to advance children’s education and organizations that empowered women. With a philanthropic spirit, she gave generously to those in need and quietly uplifted many lives. She possessed a resolute and determined nature. Those who knew her admired her ability to persevere and her unwavering efforts to advance her social and artistic vision.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Seshadri Guha; daughter-in- law Meenakshy Guha, her cherished grandchildren, Prashant and Kripa Guha; and her three sisters Mrs. Kalyani Krishnaswamy (Chennai, India), Mrs. Shantha Doraiswamy (Chennai, India) and Mrs. Janaki Nagarajan (Austin, TX).
Saraswathi Seshadri’s life was one of creativity, strength, and quiet inspiration. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and in the beauty, she brought into the world through her art and music.
At her request, religious services will be private for immediate family.
