Born June 23, 1936 in Peoria, IL to Douglas F. and Marian W. (Wolstenholme) McCann, she married Dale D. Kounse Sr. on August 20, 1955, also in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2004.
Surviving are: sons, Dale (Sue) Kounse Jr of Bloomington, IL, Douglas (Brenda) Kounse of Avon, IL, Daniel (Billie) Kounse of Peoria, and David (Paula) Kounse of Central City, Iowa; daughters, Lori (Mike) Walters of Creve Coeur, Lynnette (Brian) Stanley of Peoria, and Lisa (Paul) Mueller of Springfield, IL; sister, Marion Sweet of Ft. Worth, TX; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded by 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
She was a homemaker and of the Lutheran faith.
Visitation will be Thursday September 6, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel from 6 – 8 pm
Funeral services will be conducted Friday September 7, 2012 at 9:00 am, also at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Parkview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers Association (Central Illinois Chapter) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Midwest Affiliate.
