
Shousher Mohamed Y., 57, of Toledo, passed away the 30th of April 2012, at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, OH surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 28, 1954, to Yehia (John) H. Shousher and Emney M. Shousher (Igram). “Moe” had a thriving law practice in downtown Toledo providing representation for over 32 years in Ohio and Michigan. After graduating law school as valedictorian of his class in 1979 he joined Dave Wiley’s solo law practice in East Toledo. Moe wanted to be closer to the courts and joined Sharfman Cohen and Schwab in downtown Toledo. He practiced with the firm for a number of years until he moved into his own building on the corner of Adams and Huron. He remained there with his associates, Paula Hicks-Hudson and Eric Slack until the building on the site was destroyed by fire in 1993. His good friend Ned Adya practiced with Moe for the past 6 years.
Moe may be best be known by the baby boomers of Toledo as “Mighty Moe of 104.7 WIOT ” and in love with spinning records. He was an avid reader and Lakers fan. He loved to study history, especially WW II. Friends might be surprised to learn that he was an expert on film noir. He was passionate about justice, and saw the law as a means to protect those who could not stand up for themselves. Most of all, he was a faithful father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by the love of his life his fiancee Diane Scribner; daughter Natalie; son John; parents Yehia (John) and Emney; siblings Lila Shousher-Elwardany (Ahmed), Mona Awada-Shousher, Hussien (Randa); Mariam (Mudd) Aossey; numerous nieces, nephews aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at the at The Islamic Centre of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio where the funeral service will be held on the 1st of May at 12:30 pm. Visitation will be held at The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, 25877 Scheider Rd., Perrysburg ,Ohio Monday the 30th day April, 2012 from. 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 PM. Burial will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The Mohamed Y. Shousher scholarship fund for future University of Toledo law students or the Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania, Ohio. Donations for the scholarship fund can be sent to The University of Toledo Foundation or the Foundation of The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo.
