Adam McLaughlin was born on June 27, 1998 and passed away on December 20, 2025 at the age of 27, as a result of undiagnosed health issues.
Adam was a deeply sensitive soul with a lifelong connection to music. He loved playing guitar and felt his emotions through his playing. He was self-taught, and music was his refuge when things became too much.
Adam felt things deeply and loved fiercely, even when words were hard to find. He was passionate about his two cats, Bean and Aston, and he loved video games, music, and shoes.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Al McLaughlin and Tracey Carlton; his sister, Meaghan McLaughlin; his brother-in-law, Erik Cole; his grandmother, Anne-Marie Docherty; his grandfather, Armand McLaughlin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, extended family members, and loved ones who passed before him.
Adam’s life cannot be measured by its hardest chapters, but by the love he gave, the music he held close, and the mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him.
A service at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains to honour Adam’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. for a reflection and viewing of the urn, followed by the service from 1:30–2:30 p.m. A reception will follow at The Knights of Columbus from 2:30–5:00 p.m.
In Adam’s memory, a donation to the SickKids Foundation or the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be made at www.ashburnhamfuneral.ca
