Dear Angie ( grandma Ang) this past year has been a challenge for sure.  I was blessed to have had such an amazing mother in law to have learned so much from. My memories of you i hold dear in my heart. I know you watch over us there is no doubt in my mind. Jeff has stayed strong of course never showing his true feelings but  is missing you so much.  It's been a year since we had a chance to talk. Not a day went by that I haven't thought of you, Rod, Roxanne, Jeff, Avery, Jeffrey, Jessica, Taylor or Cory. Thankfully for facebook, Roxanne has kept us in the loop. Cory has been busy from his posts and you would be very happy with your awesome family. I have been lacking in my keeping in touch with Jeffrey. I know how busy he is and don't want to disturb him. I am looking to remedy this soon. I really missed my yearly bike trip to spend time with you this year. I didn't even take my bike out till early summer. It just was not the same. I did decide to take some of your advice and went for a ride. Well as fate would have it, I traded my bike for an older Goldwing and managed to take Christine for a few rides. I joined a club and really got back into it. I started having some problems with the 1982 Goldwing and could not get parts so I traded my ATV and the bike for a 2003 Gold
wing 1800. It is yellow and rides like a dream. Yes, I kept your financial advice in mind and I think you would be happy. I am still hoping to get a few rides before the end of the year. Life in Alban is great but I miss the times spent in the Gallon kitchen laughing and venting with you guys! I even miss Jeffrey and Cory's constant teasing of not Uncle Denis but just Denis! The memories, advice and great times will always be with me and my family. I owe you all so much and I will never be able to pay back those times. Brigitte and Zacharie are doing fine. She is busy with her courses and loves Moncton. Zacharie is going through a tough time. He moved out into his own apartment and is trying a few different jobs to see what he would like best. Christine is still having a hard time but I believe she will get through it. She misses her big sister too! Pablo Girl is such a joy to have back. She talks a lot more and brings so much fun to the household. She mimics so much of what she hears me say. It is really hard to put into practice everything you taught me over the years. I try to keep positive but it is very hard when I think of you. As much as you gave to me over the years, I have this hole inside that is empty because you are no longer there. Today is the 365th day that you left us. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Some days I can find  humor and tell you "how could you have left me alone with our six brothers to fend for myself" and laugh. Other days, it's the feeling of being a lost soul without my one and only sister. The week I spent with you is something I will always treasure. You taught me to think positively. At this time last year we were sitting by your bedside hoping and praying to the heavens that you would get better but God had other plans for you, to be an Angel looking over your family. I talk to you often when I am home seeking approval and advice but thought I would express myself for others to see. It has been a roller coaster year for me with all that has happened all that has to be done  around the house and taking care of the bills scocial activities etc. I took thiese responsibilities for granted because you managed them so well. I have traveled a lot this past year to keep myself occupied to cushion the impact of you not being here physically.  I took your advice and heeded your guidance not to mourn your passing but to look to the future and move on with life. You are not with us physically but your memories are everywhere and will be there forever and you will never be forgotten my love.
Roxanne is expecting again and you will be able to observe the full development of our new grandchild and give him or her your full blessing and whatever else Angels can influence.
We miss your smile, your wisdom and your guidance for our family but your teachings have taught us to survive and make our own decisions to move on and accept life as it plays out. The backbone of our family structure came from you.
I have learned to love again which I thought would never be possible, again by your suggestive guidance and reassurance.
God plays games in strange ways and the rules are not always clear and the curve balls come at the most inappropriate times and unexpectedly . 
You are embedded in our hearts and souls forever my love and you and all your mentoring and guidance will never be forgotten.

LIFE: What can I say? Wow!!! What a lady! Taken from us at age 58 is way too young. 
In the short 58 years of her life Angie touched so many people as is evident from the visitations at the funeral home and at the church services. She was part of my life for 40 of those 58 years from college to today. She is the foundation and pillar of strength for the family we created together and for the extended family we grew to be with our daughter in law, son in law and two precious grand children. I, Roxanne, Jeff (1), Cory, Jessica, Jeff (2) Taylor and little Avery dearly miss her physical presence and continual guidance.
When Angie and I started out after college and were setting our plans for marriage and a family she said to me that she could see us growing old together. If 58 is considered old then I guess we achieved our goals. I know that the family we created together is strong and have the same foundation to move forward now with their own families. We together are a power house thanks to the guidance and care of Angie, so maybe her goals were achieved earlier than expected and God needed a person like her in his house.

ANGIE'S FAMILY: Angie is from large family from Sudbury Ontario and is survived by her mother Diane Dupuis and father Joffre Dupuis who unfortunately could not be here due to frail health but certainly there prayers are with Angie and all of us.
She is survived by her sister and BFF Carol and six brothers Rene, Richard, Norm, Ron, Mike and Dennis and of course her sisters in law and son in law and their many children and their children's children.
Angie added to her already large family by marrying me and gained an additional five sisters and their husbands and another mother and father Thomas and Daisy Gallon.  She also had many nieces and nephews from this extended family.
Angie is pre deceased by her grand parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and in particular two of her nieces Lynn and Tammy who were taken from this world at a young age. My dad also passed away several years ago and he and Angie were good friends thus I am sure they are together catching up on details of the last few years.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Who was Angie? Angie was many characters and mastered them all throughout her life time. Angie was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a sister in law, an aunt, a mother, a grand mother, a god mother, a friend, an employee, a colleague, a mentor, a leader, an organizer, a volunteer, an athlete etc. etc.

CAREER: Angie graduated from Cambrian College in Sudbury Ontario as a library technician. Immediately after graduation Angie landed her first job at the Library of Parliament in Ottawa. 
She however had set her sites set on me and after a year followed me to the remote mining town of Murdochville on the Gaspe Peninsula of Quebec. There she worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia for short period and then landed a job in administration with the engineering department at the mine itself, Mines Gaspe. As you can see at the start of her working career she was already taking on many challenges different from that of her studies as a library technician.
We were married while living in Quebec and then made the move on to Peterborough Ontario 36 years ago and had our first beautiful child Roxanne shortly after arriving here. At this point Angie started her second career as a mother and took time away from work to raise Roxanne and Jeff who arrived three years later. 
After they started elementary school she went back pursuing her career and secured employment in customer service with Surgikos Canada. When she was being interviewed for this position, her to be manager asked her what she wanted from this job and she replied “your job” which she ultimately landed a few years later and became the customer service manager. Surgikos eventually closed their doors in Peterborough and she moved over to J and J the parent company of Surgikos and continued her career in customer service. 
Cory came along at this point and, she took her maternity leave for a year and was contemplating leaving the work force but decided to return. J and J were also downsizing their operations in Peterborough so another opportunity came along with another medical company Kendall who would be moving there manufacturing operations from Toronto to Peterborough. She applied and was successful again in customer service. She first commuted to Toronto on a daily basis until the new Kendall operations opened in Peterborough. Due to competition, cutbacks and spending cuts in the medical field Kendall would soon be closing their doors. 
Angie was asked to come back to J & J which she did. J & J however were also on their final wind down of their operations in Peterborough and she would be commuting daily to Markam Ontario.  This wasn't going to be and through networking amongst RD departments she was able to apply to Quaker Canada and secure a position with their consumer relations department. Quaker was acquired by Pepsi which now became Pepsi Co. and she worked for ten years before her retirement in 2008.
Angie was dedicated to her work and her employees and mentored and trained them to become leaders themselves and to advance their own careers within the industry. 
Angie had won coach of the year while leading her team at Pepsi Co. foods which was the best manager award in Canada as nominated by her team.
Following her working career Angie started volunteering at the hospital and other fund raising functions such as several United Way campaigns and the Dragon Boat Races in the Peterborough area.
It isn't any wonder why she has so many family, friends and colleagues who came by to remember Angie and share their stories with our family.

HEALTH and THANK YOU: Angie wasn't to long in her retirement years when she was diagnosed with the dreaded “C” disease. She bravely stood up and was determined to fight this disease in her breast and had the operation and associated treatments and was given an all clear in January of this year. Life was getting back to normal but by late March and early April however she was having severe headaches which lead to a diagnosis of brain Cancer. This floored us for a day but we were determined to fight it together which we did. Angie never showed any anger or emotion to the diagnosis and the challenges that lay ahead but stood proud and brave and laid the plans to assure everything was in order for her family to carry on without her at the helm should this be the eventual outcome. This eventuality unfortunately turned out to be sooner than expected. We continue to work on her wish lists.
We are very grateful and thankful for the medical team who assisted us through this ordeal Dr. Petricuk Surgeon, Dr. Shim her medical oncologist, Dr. Iqbal radiation oncologist, Dr. Benehashimi radiation oncologist, Dr. Gillis-Doyle Palliative Care, and all the support people from the PRHC Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care ward of the PRHC. 
Many of her family and friends laid by Angie's side diligently for hour on end while she was at the palliative care ward at the hospital and praying that she would some how would recover from the latest set back. As it turns out we helped her to commence her journey into the next life at the hands of God and to becoming a Guardian Angel to Avery, Taylor and her new born niece's son Isaac.
I also want to express a special thank you to three special people who attended to Angie's needs and sat diligently by her side and attended to her simplest needs through the long nights during her last days in the hospital. These three angels are Candace Richards her niece, Marlene Richards her sister in law and Dennis Dupuis her brother.

ANGIE: As you may have seen from the many photos, I, our family  her family, and you as extended family and friends had a great life with Angie visiting many places, camping, exercising, adventures, parties for special occasions, and many times just parties.
Angie's favorite time of year was Christmas and she decorated the house to the hilt to awe her family when they returned for the holiday and friends who visited us during this season. We always had an open house on Christmas Eve and many of our friends and family now expect this as part of their Christmas tradition. This will continue as our family tradition as she taught us to do so. Make sure you drop by!
Angie was my shining star, a strong dedicated wife to me, a mother and teacher to our children and an Angel all round. She was grandmother to Taylor and Avery who she loved so much and was looking forward to teaching them as she did our own children. She is now a Guardian Angel to Taylor, Avery and Isaac our niece's son who was born while Angie was in the hospital. She hung around long enough to see Isaac and who laid by her side several hours before God took her from us.

We will dearly miss you Ang but you will be in our hearts, soul and minds forever. You will not be physically slipping away that easy as you will still be residing with me and the family at home.

Thank you to Roxanne, Candace and June for reading of the scriptures which we selected for Angie's beautiful going away service. Thank you to father Ken the organist and choir for hosting the church service and send of for Angie.

Angella was a great leader at PepsiCo and friend to her employees. I remember when she shared with us that she would be a grandmother for the first time, tears of joy on her face. She loved to talk about her family, and was so proud of them. I would often see Rod and Ang on the Rotary Trail biking or roller blading, living life to the fullest. May her family feel comfort during this difficult time.
