March 11, 1966 to July 31, 2025
Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones and Murphy by his side.
Predeceased by his Dad and Hero, Anthony, Mario (Tony) Azzopardi, survived by his loving Mom, Eleanor (Ellie) Azzopardi, his sisters, Wendy Holliday (Iain Anderson), Cindy St. James (Rick St. James), his nieces, Brittanni Holliday (Jesse Magagna), Kaitlynn, Breanna, and Kayleigh St. James, Great Niece, Willow St. James and Great Nephew, Nikolas Holliday.
Bud was a proud Uncle and Great Uncle. Willow and Nikolas will grow up knowing how amazing Uncle Bud was.
Bud always beat to his own drum, said it the way it was, shared his thoughts and opinions, and truly lived life his way, took pride in all he did and stood for.
After leaving the Town of Ajax, Bud was an entrepreneur and ventured many businesses for himself and stayed true to his health and water businesses through Awareness, Pure Trim, and Pure North Adventures. Created his own blog, The Uncommon Canadian.
Bud succeeded in many things and was a big advocate in helping the less fortunate with his Christmas food, toy, and clothing drives. He supported many charities, fundraisers and became the founder of Hope for Mental Health, where he worked hard helping many people behind the scenes to navigate the system and get to where they needed to be and never took credit or showed all he did. He just did it.
Bud's tenacity will always be remembered by his dedication, commitment, compassion, and determination to hope for change for all he accomplished in providing awareness and navigating the system through Hope for Mental Health.
Bud loved the game of lacrosse and played for many years, retiring his stick with the Durham Masters last year.
Family and the many friendships over the years were very important to Bud.
Bud shared his medical journey with perseverance, a positive outlook, and was an inspiration to many. He never gave in or gave his medical nonsense the power.
Bud was well cared for with the medical team he had. We would like to thank our family doctor, Dr. Watson, for going to the end with Bud on his terms and how he wanted his journey to go. Your care, compassion, and respect to Bud's wishes are greatly appreciated.
The Home Care Nurses and PSWs admired and respected Bud's way of doing things, his willpower to not give up, and live each day fully, no matter what was dealt. Bud knew how blessed he was and appreciated everyone who was in his corner. Thank you for the love and support shown to Bud and our family.
Thank you to the many family and friends who stood by Bud and were always there.
All the love and support we have received is truly appreciated and has helped us with the loss of our Son, Brother, Uncle, and Great Uncle.
Quotes Bud lived by daily:
"Live life every day....
Tomorrow is promised to no one....
Never let anyone steal your dreams..."
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
