Barbara Anne Hill

September 1936 – June 2025

Barbara passed away peacefully at home on June 8, 2025.

Barb was born in Peterborough in 1936, the eldest child of Wesley and Margaret Rose. She was predeceased by her siblings Bobbie, Marion, David and Jeannie.

In 1959 Barb married Bruce Hill. They lived in Otonabee, raising 2 daughters with much love, laughter and many animals. Their door was always open to friends and family. Sadly, Bruce passed away in 1987.

Barb worked as a registered nurse on pediatrics for many years, a career she approached with compassion, insight and unwavering good humor. In her retirement she spent many enjoyable hours researching the history of St. Joe's nursing school and family histories.

Her guidance and sense of humour is deeply missed by her daughters Karen and Bev, and sons-in-law Richard and Dan. She was a loving grandmother to Sydney (Nick) and her bonus grandchildren: Andrea (Chris), Matt(Charlotte), Sasha (Jason) and Amy(Paul). She felt blessed to be able to enjoy their young families. She will be missed by her sister-in-law Georgina, her nephews Graham, Allen, and Gary and her niece Megan.

We would like to express our gratitude to Dan, MacKenzie and all of the health care professionals that have made it possible for her to spend her final years at home.
