January 7, 1950 – October 30, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and an abundance of love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Brad Dixon, who passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Brad was predeceased by his loving wife, Jessie (Biggar) Dixon, whose memory he carried close to his heart.
He leaves behind his cherished children, Kirk, Nick (Karen) and Shannon; his stepchildren, Shelley (Jeff) and Wade (Karen), who were all an important part of his life. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Jaimie (Dave), Chad (Ryleigh), Jordon (Tiffany), Logan, Macie, Mable, Josie and Rylee Joan, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A carpenter by trade, Brad took great pride in his work and believed in the value of hard work and building something with his own two hands. He was a proud, long-standing union member, most recently with Local 397, and took pride in being part of the brotherhood of his trade. Whether working on a project, lending a helping hand or sharing his knowledge and skills, Brad was always willing to give his time and talents to others. His strong work ethic and hands-on nature were simply part of who he was.
Brad had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and spending time in the woods. It was where he found peace, happiness and some of life’s simplest pleasures.
But more than anything, Brad will be remembered for the man he was. He had a generous heart, a wonderful sense of humour and a way of making people laugh, even when they least expected it. He was always willing to help, never needed much in return and had a way of showing his love through the things he did for others.
Brad wasn’t just a father or grandfather, he was someone we could count on, someone who could make us smile and someone whose presence made life a little better. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, lessons and love that will forever be treasured by those lucky enough to have known him.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the MAID Program and Dr. Brent MacMillan for their compassion, kindness, support and care. Their guidance and support helped make it possible for Brad to spend his final moments at home, surrounded by the people who loved him most. Our family will always be grateful for the dignity and compassion shown to Brad and to all of us during this time.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that he spent his final moments where he belonged, at home, surrounded by his family and the love that was always there for him.
Thank you, Dad, for the laughter, love, memories and everything you gave us along the way. We will miss your voice, your humour, your stories and all the little things that made you who you were. Life will never be quite the same without you, but a part of you will always live on in each of us.
You were deeply loved, and you always will be.
Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
A celebration of Brad’s life will be held on June 5, 2027, at the Lakehurst Community Hall.
