MATHEWS, Bruce Hilliard - At his residence on Friday June 11, 2010. Bruce Mathews of Hiawatha in his 85th year. Husband of the late Joyce (Smith) .Dear brother-in-law and best friend of Gertrude (Trudy) Kemp. Dear father of Ron (Ruth) of Indian River, Bill Mathews of Hiawatha and Clarence (Cheryl) of Peterborough. Bruce will also be missed by Cindy Ingram (Kemp),a special niece and daughter that he never had. Loving grandfather of Holli (Dave Oliver), Adam, Sonya (Howard Tremblett), Jade, Lisa, Daniel and great grandfather to Samantha, Cassidy and Jazmyn. Brother of Isabel (Donnie Fines) of Hastings, Mildred Campbell of Campbellford, Vera (Wayne Dodd) of Hastings, and the late Susie Cuthbertson and Hugh Mathews. Brother-in-law to Mick McMillan and the late Ken Campbell. Bruce is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at KEENE UNITED CHURCH, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 15, 2010. A funeral service to celebrate Bruce's life will then be held in the church on Wednesday June 16th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Rosemount Memorial Gardens.
