My deepest condolences to the whole family and dearest friends of Carol, all who will miss her the most. 
To Dave, Matthew, Nathan, Alexandra and Victoria, I send special condolences on behalf of the Kirkland family, from Ms. Paula Kirkland (Green), from Grace-Anne (Slade), and from Rebecca Foster (Marshall). We are all sorry and saddened to hear that Carol is gone, but we also know that she is in heaven, in perfect peace, and with my mom, Anne, who the kids all called "Nana". Carol and Anne knew each other on earth and are together now with Jesus, enjoying their mansions and gardens in paradise. 
Carol was such a devoted woman to God and her family, but also had enough energy to give to her community. At GCA, our school, she was always volunteering to help out with functions and school trips. I knew I could always count on Carol to help supervise my students when we went on big trips to the Zoo in Toronto or to the mines in Bancroft, or the Thousands Island Cruise, or Medieval Times, or the Water Festival in Peterborough, where Carol ran around after a small group, usually made up of Grade 3 or 4 boys with tonnes of energy! She always kept them safe and ensured they were respectful, or else! She was a woman with a lot of heart, who gave of herself even if it cost her dearly, and who could always be depended on to stop whatever she was doing and listen to you. She valued others above herself, unselfishly and with loads of empathy. If someone was laughing, Carol laughed. If someone was crying, Carol cried with them. The world was a better place because of Carol. But our loss is truly heaven's gain. My prayers for the whole family are that God will give you His amazing peace as you grieve. Sadly, I cannot attend the funeral on Saturday, but I will stop what I am doing on Saturday and say a prayer while you are all taking time to grieve together. I am thinking of you all at this time. Carol was a very important part of our lives, she gave an opportunity to my kids to enjoy hockey, my son who has ASD built confidence thanks to the kawartha moments, many amazing memories, games , trips and David and Carol always willing to help. I had the pleasure to have long chats with Carol and she was an amazing person. We are going to miss her very much. But heaven gain an angel
