We are heartbroken that after a lifetime of triumph and challenge, Dana has moved on to her next great adventure. Born on March 8, 1983 she spent 43 years lighting up this world before slipping away peacefully in her sleep to begin her journey among the stars.
Dana didn’t just meet people; she collected friends. With a magnetic personality and a heart that knew no bounds, she was the person everyone gravitated toward. She was the first to offer a home to someone in need and the last to give up on a person going through a hard time. Her compassion was her superpower.
While she didn't have children of her own, she was a devoted "mom" to her beloved pets showering them with the same fierce love she gave her family. To her nephew Max and niece Violet, she wasn't just an aunt—she was a master frog catcher, chef extraordinaire, and architect of magic. Famous for building massive living-room forts draped in twinkling lights that turned ordinary sleepovers into lifelong memories.
She leaves behind a family who loved her beyond measure. Mother Sharon Reid (Rod), Sisters Jessica (Mike) and Caylee (Darryl), Brother Cody (Emily), Grandmother Grace Reid, Uncle Stephen, Aunt Heather, Cousin Frank (Rom), and so many others we couldn't possibly name. While we are heartbroken and our world feels dimmer without her, we know she is currently off exploring the sky, reconnecting with her father Mark, cousin James, Grandpa, Nanny and Poppa while making new friends in high places, and likely building the biggest, brightest fort the heavens have ever seen.
We aren't saying goodbye we are saying see you later; Please join us to share memories and celebrate the time we had with Dana at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Rd, Peterborough, ON K9H 2A2 on Saturday, May 23 from 2pm – 5pm.
