I know this is very late as I didn’t realize Dan had passed but he was such a huge part of our lives for many years.  My 3 children went to St Alphonsus school where I volunteered for years, in the classroom, PTA and also in the office. One day Dan took me aside and said I should take the EA course and get paid for what I did for free for years. So I went back to school and have him to thank. His brother George was my grade 6 teacher so there was a history throughout the years. God bless them both ❤️

My sympathies to the Ross family. I had Mr. Ross as a teacher at St. Alphonsus in the sixties. He was the reason I later became a teacher and taught in the Limestone DSB for 35 years.  He was my first basketball coach and I too coached basketball for many years. He was a great teacher who loved teaching. 
I just recently learned of his passing but know his legacy will live on.

Grace. So sorry to read of Dan's passing. Haven't been in touch for a few years but Dan and I did share  some interesting times over the years. I always enjoyed Dan's company and unique sense of humor.

Well, deeply saddened with Dan,s  passing. Dan was a real mentor to  myself and many others in the PVNCRC  school board. I will miss our bed side chats and his   regular phone calls while he was   hospitalized.  Dan was first and foremost  the family man.  His love for Grace, Jennifer and   James and Abigail was   prominent is all his  chats.  We all loved his quick wit   Finally I need to say that Dan , while lying prone in his hospital bed  , actually stood taller  and more erect in strength ,  empathy for others, encouragement for others , than any other person I have known.     Grace, Jennifer, James  and Abigail were blessed  and enriched to have  him  in their lives. . We  we all were  I am sure that Dan will continue to give  wise  advice to his brothers and others  in  his new resting  home.  He always  took your hand and said " LOVE YOU  THANKS FOR COMING  " as  I departed.  God  bless Dan .  Karl and Helen McFadden.  

I’m a former student of Dans’ and I’d like to express my condolences. I have very fond memories of him in my last year of St Alphonsus. He was a fair and kind teacher. Thank you for that Dan!

Dan was a wonderful friend to my late Dad Joe MacCool and I wanted to extend my condolences and love to his family. 

We are so sorry to hear of Dan’s passing.  He was a dedicated educator who affirmed and supported his teachers, support staff, students, and fellow administrators. We always enjoyed his great sense of humour and our shared love of the Montreal Canadians. He will be greatly missed.

Dan was much more than a good friend . He was a very positive role model,  a mentor, and a teacher.  The love of his life was his family ;   
his wife Grace, their daughter Jennifer, and his two grandchildren James and Abegail.  Every action Dan took, whether  it was personal or professional, was laced with dignity, care, respect and kindness. He had an active sense of humour, and was extremely quick witted. He frequently came back with memorable one liners.  He was a  very strong influencer  not  just  limited to staff and students  he worked with,  but with others in his extensive social network. I will miss you
Dan, as we all will, but you will continue to live in both our hearts and  minds forever.  Good bye my friend.

Dan was a wonderful educator with a great sense of humour. As a principal he offered support and direction. I treasure my two years of teaching at St. John's with Dan as principal. He was a true leader. We had a "fun" and dedicated staff. Thank you, Dan. Condolences to Grace, Dan's family and all teachers and students who feel the loss of a good friend and wise man.

I was a young teacher at St. Alphonsus and St . Catherine Schools when Dan was principal.  I think of Dan with great respect and gratitude and a smile on my face.  He was a dedicated educator who had a vision of creating a school community where everyone felt valued and supported to reach their full potential. Dan took me under his wing and instilled confidence in my abilities.  He was a wonderful mentor and friend.  I am grateful for all of the chats and laughs we shared together over the years.  May his family find peace in knowing he touched so many lives in a  positive way.

  I am so very sorry for your loss.  Dan was an amazing man. I looked up to him as my principal at St . Paul’s  when I was a student. Years later when I had become a teacher,  he filled in as principal at my school for two months . I saw the amazing presence he brought to the school in those two short months.  I admired him even more and enjoyed his sense of humour.
