August 18, 1959 – February 6, 2026
Daryl Edward McMullen passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family at the Bridge Hospice in Warkworth, Ontario.
Born on August 18, 1959, in Kingston, Ontario, Daryl was a man who valued family and wore many important roles with quiet pride and steady devotion — husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Each role reflected his kind spirit and the deep care he held for those around him.
Daryl will be remembered for his warmth, his steady presence, and his wonderful sense of humour, which brought laughter to those around him. He loved watching hockey, spending time fishing, playing chess, tinkering away at projects, summers at the trailer in Sandaraska Park, and collecting his various finds from antiquing adventures.
Throughout his battle with cancer, Daryl showed remarkable courage and strength. He faced each day with resilience and quiet determination, never losing sight of what mattered most — his family and the time they shared together. His bravery and grace left a lasting impression on all who walked alongside him.
Daryl is lovingly survived by his wife, Marguerita “Rita”; his mother, Carol; his children, Jason (Stacey), Jessica (John), and Colin (Mary‑Clare); his stepchildren, Julia (Dan), Erin (Manny), and Shayna (Kyle); his grandchildren, Madison, Alyssa, Luke, Aurora, Thomas, Lyon, and Lief; his brother, Alan (Charlotte); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21st from 1:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m at the Mohawk Fire Department Fire Hall in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and honour Daryl’s life together.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at The Bridge Hospice for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during Daryl’s final days. Their comfort and dedication meant more than words can express.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Daryl’s memory may be made to The Bridge Hospice.
Daryl leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward with gratitude and love.
