1948 - 2025
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of David, 76, on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He will be deeply missed by his wife Carol (nee Hunter) of 47 years, and his children Lisa (Rob), Dave (Tara) and Chris. A loving grandfather to Katie, Gage (Olivia), Cody, Athena, Alyssa and Carter. David is predeceased by his parents George and Dorothy Smith. Brother to Beverly (the late Al), Doug (the late EllenBeth) and Brenda (Perry), and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dave was a hardworker, and always ready to help others. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed cooking, animals and being outdoors. David will be fondly remembered for his playful sense of humour, his wit and his fierce love for his family.
As per David's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10am - 11am at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Rd, Peterborough. Memorial Service to begin at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. A special thanks to Peterborough First Responders and paramedics for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peterborough Humane Society in David's memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
