It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deborah “Debbie” Irene Clarke (Finn) on July 14, 2025, after facing a prolonged illness with unwavering strength and courage. She is joyfully reunited in heaven with her son Michael Stanley Clarke (2001) and her parents Blanche (2001) and Stanley (2004).
Born in Peterborough on January 16, 1954, Debbie was the beloved wife of Mike, and cherished mother to Danielle and Shannon (Jay). She shared a unique and special bond with each of her five grandchildren- Daria (Reed), Dylan, Ella, Lucas and Lilly. Taking joy in their individual personalities and creating lasting memories with each one. Her love, wisdom and warmth will be forever treasured. Debbie will be greatly missed by her siblings: Jed (Marg), Cindy (Nick), Torry (Anne Marie), Brock and Juanita, she was predeceased by Tammy.
In addition, she was adored by a large extended family including Diane, Sharon (Brian), Gary (predeceased), Wayne (Sue), Debbie (Frank predeceased), Cheryl (Dennis), Jackie (Darrel), Darryl (Linda) and Denise. It was important to Debbie that her many nieces and nephews knew that her home was always open to them if they needed a place to sleep, a bite to eat, or if they just wanted to enjoy her candy bowl. Debbie doted on her beloved pups- Ozzy, Claudia, Hank, Nellie and Fig. Each brought her immeasurable comfort, especially during her time in the hospital. Their loyal companionship was a constant source of strength and joy in her final days.
Known for her boundless compassion and unwavering generosity, Debbie lived a life defined by selflessness. She consistently put the needs of others before her own, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, and a kind heart to anyone in need. Whether caring for family, supporting her wide circle of friends, or volunteering in her community, Debbie’s gentle spirit touched countless lives. Her legacy of love and humility will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A special thank you to Debbie’s lifelong friend, Judy, and sisters Cindy and Sue who were by Debbie’s side through her illness and always made sure she was well stocked with berries and other favorite treats. Debbie’s family would like to thank the palliative care team at PRHC, especially Dr. Morelli, for their loving care during such a difficult time.
