Doreen was the beloved wife of the late Derek Scott, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 50 years. Together they built a life rooted in love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to their family.
She was a loving and devoted mother to Julie Boyce, Stephen Scott, and Beverly Scott, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Doreen was also a treasured grandmother to Jesse, Emily, Amber, Kayla, Grace, Landon, and Jayden, and was the proud great-grandmother to Luca, Barret, Wesson and Wyatt.
Her family was the centre of her world, and she took immense pride in every moment spent together.
A gifted artist, Doreen found great happiness in painting, expressing her creativity through beautiful works of art that reflected her gentle spirit and appreciation for the world around her. She also had a deep love of music, which filled her home and brought comfort and joy throughout her life.
Doreen also leaves behind an extensive and dearly loved family in England. In 1970, she and Derek made the courageous decision to leave their homeland and begin a new chapter in Canada, setting out together in search of their own life’s path. Although she embraced her life in Canada, England always held a special place in her heart. Not a day passed without thoughts of the family she loved so deeply. The miles between them never lessened the strength of her love, and she carried them with her always.
Doreen will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, generous nature, and the love she so freely gave to those around her. Her warmth, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Those who knew Doreen, know she would never want her passing to be marked only by tears. In her honour, raise a glass, share a story, and celebrate a life that was lived with love, creativity, and devotion to family. Though she is deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband Derek. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched and in the love she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Peterborough or the charity of your choice in Doreen’s memory.
