Dear Peggy and Kathy.  We are sorry for your loss.  We did not know your mother well but her and your father were good neighbours and will be missed.  The last time we saw her was at the neighbourhood BBQ and she was in good spirits. The van der Veens at 1822.

In less than a year you girls have lost your dad and your mom.On behalf of the Peterborough Newcomer's Alumni, we want you to know that we are thinking of both of you and your children with love and prayers.

I just went through the pictures of your wonderful Mom's life and all the family happiness she had.  I couldn't find many that she didn't have a big happy smile.  She will always be in my heart and was a true friend of mine.  I hope it comforts all of you somewhat that so many care and share your loss.

Just looked through all the wonderful pictures on this site and I cried through many of them.  We have such happy memories of times with Dorothy and she will always be in my heart.  I couldn't find many pics that she didn't have a lovely big smile on her face! I sang with Dorothy for many years in North Metro, I also knew her in Four Oaks.when Scarborough chapter got together and visited for an evening of singing and fun. Her smile was contagious with everyone, she will be missed .

Peggy and Kathy and families, we are so very sorry for the sudden loss of your beautiful mother. She always had a smile on her face and seemed to live life to it's fullest. By the looks of all the photos, she loved to laugh and have fun.  Your mom and dad always seemed so happy no matter what was going on in their own lives. From the first time we met your mother and every time in between she always had a smile on her face.  She lived life and loved her family.  She welcomed us in as extended family and made us feel welcome. Her sense of humour was evident in all her tales that she passed along and did she have some tales.  Bill and her are back together dancing, singing and taking rides in Bill's red car.  She will be missed but never forgotten.

We are very sorry to hear of Aunt Dorothy's sudden passing. She was such a loving and fun person and will deeply missed in the family. We have wonderful memories of the times we spent with her, uncle Bill and Peggy and Cathy over the years. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

we are so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother.  what a terrible shock to all of us. we were so please to have had the opportunity to see and have a short visit with your mother  a few weeks ago.  she seemed so full of life and cheerful at that time and also looked great.  your mom was always so elegant and gracious.  she always took such wonderful care of bill and did it with such love and patience.  we will truly miss her.  remember you will always have family and we will always be there should you ever need us.  lots of hugs

Dorothy was a tremendous role model to me in maintaining a youthful spirit throughout life.  Her memory and teachings will forever glow in this world

I will always remember Dorothy as a fun loving, kind, gregarious person who had much love to share with everyone.  In my mind she was a true example of unconditional love, an inspiration to us all, she will be sadly missed but not forgotten.
