REID, Effie Lillian (nee Meeks) – Peacefully, with her family at her side, at Pleasant Meadow Manor, Norwood, on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in her 93rd year. Effie, beloved wife of the late Albert Reid. Loving mother of Patricia Derrett (Ken), Dale Reid (Debbie), Larry Reid (Marie), Barry Reid (Jan), Kenny Reid (Jackie) and the late Lorraine Delaire (late Dennis). Much loved grandmother of sixteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Gladys (nee Parker) and Bruce Meeks. She will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.
A Lifetime member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch#52 Ladies Auxiliary. Effie enjoyed playing darts, bowling and many years at her cottage in Coe Hill. She especially loved going for boat rides on Wollaston Lake.
A Memorial Reception will be held at the Norwood Legion Branch #300, 27 King Street Norwood, on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 11am-3 pm. Cremation entrusted to Community Alternative Funeral Home. Donations to the Pleasant Meadow Manor Resident’s Fund would be welcome and may be made at www.communityalternative.ca.
