Erin Lee Anne Bronson-Tate, age 65, passed away on August 22, 2026. Born September 8, 1960, in Peterborough, Ontario, Erin was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew and loved her, and a beloved member of her community in Selwyn, Ontario.
Erin’s life was grounded in steadfast devotion to family and in an unwavering sense of what was right. With honesty that was clear and dependable, and loyalty that never wavered, she helped shape a family culture of standing up for one another—staying close through both the good times and the difficult ones and holding fast to love.
She found genuine joy in simple, shared moments: rock concerts, antiquing and thrifting, and time spent together as a family. Long Sunday drives and unhurried visits were among the rhythms that brought comfort and connection, and those memories will be held close by all who shared them with her. The golden hour and sunset were Erin’s favourite time of day; we will look to the setting sun and remember her each day.
Erin is survived by her spouse, Gord Tate; her children, Shawn, Jeni (Jack), Lorne (Melody), and Samantha (Steve); and her grandchildren, Dallas, Dryden, Nicholas, Theo, Cole, Jacob, Jackson, Chloe, Claire, and Zayla. She is also survived by her great grandson, Jasper; her mother, Donna; her sisters, Meg, Debbie, Lorie (Larry), Julie (Scott), and Nicole (Graham); and her brothers, Bill (Shelley) and Rob. Erin was predeceased by her father, Bill Bronson, and her brother, Michael (Timothy). She is loved and remembered by many nieces and nephews.
The family extends sincere thanks to the staff at PRHC for the loving care they showed Erin. Donations in Erin’s memory may be made to the PRHC Foundation.
