Erma was a remarkable woman whose strength, determination, humour, and loving heart touched the lives of so many. She was truly one of a kind - a woman who faced life's hardships with courage and resilience, always finding a way to push through whatever challenges came her way. She never gave up, and her strength was an inspiration to those who knew and loved her.
Born on February 15, 1941, Erma was one of seven siblings. Her family was an important part of her life's story, and the experiences she shared throughout her life helped shape the strong, independent and spirited woman she became.
Erma was an incredibly hardworking woman who was happiest when she was busy gardening, working in her yard or finding something that needed doing. She took pride in everything she did, and sitting still was never really her style.
But alongside her strength and hard work was a wonderful sense of humour, Erma had a quick wit, a cheeky spirit, and just the right amount of sass. She had a way of making people laugh, putting smiles on faces, and brightening a room simply by being herself. Her laughter and unmistakable personality made her unforgettable, and those who knew her will always remember the joy she brought into their lives.
Erma found happiness in the simple things that made life beautiful. She treasured the time spent with her friends, especially their getaways to New York to enjoy the excitement of the casino and the wonderful memories they made together. She also had a love for gardening and took great pride in keeping her vegetable and flower gardens looking beautiful.
Camping during the summer was something she truly loved. It brought her a sense of calm, peace, and happiness, giving her time to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and cherish special moments with people she loved.
In her final days, a special little kitten, Bodie, found his way into her heart. This new companion brought her so much love, comfort and joy when she needed it most. The bond they shared was a beautiful reminder that love can come into our lives in the simplest and most unexpected ways.
These are the things that made her happy and gave her life meaning - Friendships, nature, the beauty and treasured memories, and the comfort of a little companion who brought light into her final days. These precious moments and the love she shared with others will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Above all, Erma was a loving woman who meant the world to her family and friends. She leaves behind her beloved children, Terry, Darlene, Wade, Lisa and Elaine and their families along with many cherished grandchildren, great - grandchildren and a great great grandchild, who will carry her love and memory forward for generations to come.
She also leaves behind a wide circle of dear friends. Erma was fortunate to have more friends than most people could ever hope for, and she was loved deeply by so many. The friendships she built and the lives she touched are a testament to the special person she was.
In keeping with Erma's wishes, there will be no traditional funeral service. Instead, her family will honour her beautiful life with a celebration of her life, bringing together family and friends to share memories, laughter, and stories of the beautiful woman they loved so dearly. Although her passing leaves a tremendous void, Erma's legacy will live on through the family she raised, the friendships she treasured, the laughter she shared, and the countless memories she leaves behind.
Your hands may no longer tend the garden, you faced life's storms with strength, worked hard, loved deeply, and left your mark on so many hearts. Now it is time to rest.
Rest peacefully, Your love will remain with us always
