Evelyn Grace Ferguson Smith

was born in Haldimand Township and was the daughter of the late Archie and Leitha (Gall) Ferguson.

Predeceased by her brothers John and Clarence Ferguson.

Evelyn was predeceased by Jack Smith (February 2013) and John A Potter (Jack) (May 1971), father of

her children Susanne (late Doug) Langford of Norwood, Jane (late Charles) Honey of Campbellford,

Margaret (Dale) Loucks of Campbellford, Elaine (Tony) White of Selwyn, Laura (Mike) Lynch of Hastings,

Amy Jo (Ron) Fowler of Campbellford, Rodney (Elaine) Potter of Warkworth.

Grandma will be forever missed by her grandchildren Doug Langford (Bella Chahan), Lisa Langford

(Doug Steringa), Jeffrey Langford (Stacy), Julie Petherick (Randy), Carla Honey (Ken Sedgwick), Mark Honey (Kate), Sarah Loucks, Heather Loucks (Jon Gummer), Justin Loucks (Darla), Jeremy White, Jason White (Deborah), Rebecca White (Cal Yule), Jonathan Munnings (Melissa Nicholson), Angela Munnings (Jay Finn). Predeceased by her granddaughter Rachael Calder. Evelyn will be missed by her 25 great-grandchildren.

Evelyn attended Russ School and continued her education at Warkworth High School. At age 50 she

attended Loyalist College and obtained her Registered Practical Nurse Certificate. After graduation she

worked at the Community Nursing Home in Warkworth until age 70. At the same time Evelyn was

involved with her church work at St. Paul’s United in Warkworth. Meanwhile she kept up with her

gardening, housework, farming, family, and friends.

Mother did a lot of cooking and entertaining, while fitting in trips abroad, in the winter she concentrated

on her knitting and quilting and made 22 quilts for her great-grandchildren. She had a full and happy life,

and always put others first, devoting her time to people.

Church UCW or a charity of your choice.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ashburnham Funeral Home, Peterborough Ontario.

Cremation has taken place.

Evelyn’s funeral service will be held on Saturday November 12th at St. Paul’s United Church in

Warkworth at 1 PM. Visitation will be held prior from 10 30 am to 12 30 pm.
