Predeceased by her parents, Margaret E. Carpenter (née Clark) and Gilbert Carpenter, and by her beloved husband of 50 years, Kenneth Grant Fleming.
Gail was the loving mother and best friend of Chrissy, cherished Nana of Joshua (Adam), and dear sister of Susan Groves.
Born on August 4, 1938, Gail grew up in Toronto, Ontario, and graduated from Notre Dame High School, Class of 1955. She cherished spending weekends and holidays at the family cottage on Lake Simcoe in Brechin, where many treasured memories were made. Later, she settled in Ennismore, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and community. Alongside her husband, Ken, she played an active role in the family business, Trent Welding Supplies (1974) Ltd., and took great pride in the relationships and community it served.
In 2015, Gail moved to Summit Terrace in Peterborough, where she formed many meaningful friendships and connections that brought her great joy and companionship.
Family was the center of Gail's world. She shared an especially close bond with her daughter, Chrissy, and her beloved grandson, Joshua, who was truly the apple of her eye.
For many years, Gail and Ken spent cherished time wintering in Daytona Beach, creating memories she held close to her heart. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—an afternoon of bingo on Tuesdays, visits with friends, and her standing hair appointments with Tania, which always made her feel beautiful.
Above all else, Gail was a loving, caring, and joyful woman whose faith was the foundation of her life. Deeply rooted in her beliefs, she lived with kindness, compassion, gratitude, and a trusting heart. Her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, warm smile, and unconditional love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with those who have gone before her. xo
In keeping with Gail's wishes, there will be no formal visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, 513 Ennis Rd., Ennismore, ON K0L 1T0 at 11 a.m. followed by inurnment.
