Gayle Freeburn

We mourn the loss and celebrate the extraordinary life of Brenda Gayle Freeburn, nee Anderson, who died peacefully on September 16th 2026.

She is to be reunited with the late Kenneth Wayne Freeburn, lovingly married for 56 years.

Known to many as the firecracker of the community, Gayle will be remembered as an integral member of the small village of Keene.

Lovingly remembered by her daughter Tammy (Richard) and son Jeff (Sharon). Loving granddaughters Abby (Quinn), Lauryn, Mayve (Kendall), Sarah and Julia. Brother Don Anderson (Lois) and brother-in-law Ted Freeburn.

Gayle looked forward to her daily walks throughout the village with her friends, Wednesday night bingo at the Arena and making sure to always have a batch of her sweet butter tarts available for her friends and neighbours.

Her love of life, family and community will continue to inspire her loved ones for generations. Sincere gratitude is given to the village of Keene for their continuous love and support.

The family wishes to acknowledge the dedicated professionals at the PRHC and Hospice Peterborough, for their exemplary care and compassion. A special thank you is given to Dr. Becca Webster and Dr. Sophie Kloppenburg for their memorable support.

The family will honour her memory at a celebration held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gayle can be made to Keene United Church or Hospice Peterborough.
