Gilbert Lester Sperry was born November 15, 1934 in a small village in Nova Scotia. Gill made his journey to heaven on August 5, 2025 where he was met by his late son Greg and wife Joyce. In his early 20s Gill moved to Ontario to work on the construction of the Welland Chanel, build boats, commercial structures, and eventually homes. Gill’s many talents allowed him to build anything he put his mind to. He was mischievous, playful, trusting, loyal, patient, honest, stubborn, caring, and had a tremendous sense of humour. He lived a rich life filled with meaningful relationships;. He supported his community through his generosity, as a volunteer firefighter, and involvement in the local church. Gill could be described as a man's man. He was happiest fishing, hunting, attending wildlife dinners, being with nature, playing cribbage, curling or shuffleboard, and drinking red wine with his many dear friends. Gill always had a twinkle in his eye, and a smile on his face. Gill has lived at Royal Gardens for the past few years where he made new friends while receiving exceptional care. He is already deeply missed by his three daughters and their partners Kate and Mark, Wendy and John, Deborah, and Greg's wife Kim, and his four grandchildren Drew, Josh, Mike, and Sarah.
Gill, we raise a glass for a life well lived - cheers.
