Herbert "Herb" Arthur Hewitt

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Herbert (Herb) Arthur Hewitt on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Gloria Hewitt for 63 years. Loving father of Jim Hewitt (Nancy), Cathy Doyle (Earl), and the late Rick Hewitt. Proud grandfather of Krista Hewitt (Cameron), Jenny Todd (Jordan), Amy Doyle (Benjamin), Jason Doyle (Elysha), and the late Amber Hewitt. Loved and known as Farmer Gramps to great-grandchildren Isla, Nora and Jack Todd.

Cherished brother of Ron (Joan) and Doreen (Bruce). Adored brother-in-law Wayne (the late Brenda), Terry (Shirley), Tim (Debby), Greg (Colleen) and the late Ken, Len and Trudy. Dear friend of Marilyn Miller. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Growing up on his family’s farm instilled in him his lifelong passion for farming.

A natural storyteller, Herb brought warmth and joy to everyone he met. He collected countless stories from trips with family and friends, and had fond memories of visiting Disney World with his children and grandchildren. He was magnetic and energetic, and was known to tear up the dance floor.

He would do anything for anyone, and enjoyed being involved in any projects his children and grandchildren were working on. With his adventurous and curious spirit, Farmer Gramps provided the biggest playground for his family to create memories and mischief. From tractor rides to bottle feeding calves to racing around on snowmobiles, he taught us all to explore.

A private family service will be held at a later time.
