 My wife Nancy & I were so very lucky to meet happy & fun loving people like Hugh & Gloria. They introduced us to some of there Canadian friends.Who also were very nice.Every year he would invite us up there, & I'm so  sorry we didn't get a chance to go & see the sites & people they knew. We rode together down here He was a great friend & had a heart of gold. We looked foward to the season when you guys would show up. We will miss you & our thoughts are with you. Hugh was a dear friend for sure who shared the joy, love, and insight of brilliance only that a person of his caliber could bring.

He was loved by all of the hearts he touched, and will be missed greatly by the Florida Motorcycle Crew from Cape Coral. Dana, John, Ultra Classic Tom, Car Rental Tom, Richie, Duke, Squirrel, Doug, Joe, Ernie, Gary & Bonita, The Kansas City Crew... Larry & Linda, Steve & Rita, Billy Ray& Kathy, Louie. Gordon, Worm, Pat, Bubba from Chicago, Dean, Bobbie & Sue, and probably another 100 I cant remember who rode every Sunday while he visited us in Florida.

Will will miss ya pal :-)

Hugh was a patient in my office for last 5 years. His picture is very fitting, he always had a smile on his face, always. Hugh seemed to love life and in that there is a lesson for us. My condolences to his family, may God give you strength and understanding during this difficult time.

hugh and i met about 7 years ago we became good friends in that time,he would come into the pharmacy and say "are you eating again",he would always bring me a orange back from florida and would call me from there just too brag how warm it was and to see how i was doing,he was very thoughtful and a very true friend who would do anything for you.he will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. goodbye my friend.

Hugh was kind enough to help get me started on my own business.  I worked with Hugh for approx. 2 years and he was a very kind man.  I will be forever grateful to him and Midwest Traffic for their guidance and assistance.  Hugh will be sadly missed.

Words cannot express our heartfelt sorrow for Hugh's whole family, puppies included. Hugh was our leader, we were like a little family at Mid-West. We always felt close to him as he guided and supported us though the years. I will always remember him bringing us in egg salad sandwiches, and saying (All you little pigggies and pigglets to the trough).In our office, he protected us and helped us all. Hugh was a wonderful man with a witty sense of humor and a hearty laugh to match. His love for living life on the edge will never be forgotten. It was an honor to get to work for his company, Mid West Traffic. and I am thinking of his staff at Mid West, Gloria and his family throughout this sad time. Hugh would want us to look at the positive aspects of his life and to be remembered as someone who truly lived life to the fullest.

Just a short note to Hugh's family and friends.  I knew Hugh through early high school, he was always a couple of 'grades' ahead of me.  Hugh helped me negotiate the purchace of my 2nd., car a 1954 Ford Sunliner 2 door hardtop.  The seller was asking 120.00 dollars and Hugh suggested that 105.oo would be a better offer. Guess what?  the deal was done for 105.oo dollars.

For many winters, "Hughie" was my regular walking buddy down Coronado, Lucerne and Driftwood in Cape Coral. He was a joy to meet and talk to.Gloria, my deepest sympathy to you and your family.

We met Hugh originally in March of 2009 as buyers of his home on Malaluka Court in Cape Coral, Florida. When we entered the house for the first time, we knew this is it. Hugh was a wonderful host. Even after the purchase of the house we met Hugh and Gloria during our stays in Florida regularly. The get-together with him and Gloria were always very relaxed and we had so much fun. Remember our visits at Dek Bar!

Hugh will always be closely connected with us through the house in Cape Coral!

We have known Hugh and Gloria for quite some years and found them a delightful couple - Hugh always smiling and joking and Gloria full of witticisms. Hugh will be soerly missed; as someone already wrote -  he lit up a room when he entered. We love you Hugh. Gert and Sylvia Bruhn.

Our deepest condolences to the family. Although we haven't seen Hughie for a few years, we have great memories from the Pines and our many house parties and all the fun we had. Sad time for all.

Although we never met Huey in person we had many telephone conversations and e-mails over the past year since we purchased his Murphy Rebel C-FWPW and Joe Milburn flew it down to Newfoundland for him. We had hoped to meet some day on a visit to Ontario but we guess it will not be.  Huey was a honest man with great integrity. We will remember him during our flights this summer. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.

We will never forget that smile.  I never met a person that could be mad yet still smile.  We have known Hugh and Gloria from day one here in Cape Coral.  We will always be looking for him during our bike nights. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Hugh took me for my first flight at Lindsay airport and I was hooked from there. I got my license and a plane and Kathy and I flew to lunches and the cottage for many a cocktail.
Many a day working outside was ended with Hughie beckoning us to join him in the boathouse, "For a cocktail, just to be sociable." were always his words. He loved a good meal, a good drink and his friends. He leaves a big hole in our hearts.

Hugh & Gloria introduced us to Cape Coral in 2000.He provided good home buying advice and by 2002 we owned our piece of "Paradise", a word Hugh used often to describe Cape Coral. He loved the climate and his Cape Coral friends dearly. Casual dress was the norm. Soon the Cape Coral Canadian Club was formed with Hughie as the Chairman.  We enjoyed many fun and happy times together. Hugh will be greatly missed.

They say there are people who light up a room when they walk in. Hugh simply lit up life. And each of us, who had the pleasure of Hugh's humour,  friendship, and energy got to bask in the warm glow. Condolences to family and friends. Mary & Dennis

Our trips to Florida will never be the same.The boat rides,wing days,motorcycle rides and good times at the house in Florida and in Canada will be sadly missed by us. Hugh was a joy to be with at any time. Hope they have beer and wings in Heaven.

My life was enriched when I got to know Hugh and Gloria about 12 years ago.  The laughter and the bright smiles Hugh always had made me laugh.  He always called me "Miss V" which no one has ever called me before.  I will forever miss his 6 months a year here in Florida.
