James Frederick Winter

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Frederick Winter on March 2, 2025, peacefully in his home with Liz by his side. James lived a full and rich life, touching the hearts of all who knew him with his warmth and humour.

James and Elizabeth Timpson married, and they built a family, raising two children together. Yet, as life often does, it led them down separate paths, and they eventually divorced. Both moved forward, finding new partners and building new lives. However, fate had other plans. In time, brought them back together, reigniting the love they had once shared. They remarried, proving that sometimes love’s greatest gifts come full circle.

Happily married twice to Elizabeth (née Timpson) Winter. Father to Richard (Vickie) Winter and Stephen (Lori) Winter. Grandfather to Brad (Julie) Winter, Michelle Winter, Leslie-Anne Winter, Alex (Lisa) Winter, Casey (Kendall) Winter and Kevin (Ashley) Winter. Great-Grandfather to Ryleigh, Zoey, Peyton, Ava and the newest arrival, Scarlett Winter. Brother of the late Douglas Winter. Uncle to Keith (Lori) Winter and Andrew (Annette) Winter. Brother-in-law to George (Ann) Timpson. James also leaves behind Shelley, the former partner of his son Richard, mother of Brad Winter, who has been like a daughter to Liz for the past 47 years, and whom Jim loved as a daughter for the 20 years she was in his life.

Visitation will be held at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Sunday May 4, 2025 from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm, with a reception to be held immediately after.
