Janet Fraser Thomsen

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet (Jenny) Fraser Thomsen on September 6, 2026.

Beloved partner of Colin.

Jenny was born in Glasgow, Scotland on August 18, 1938, to Walter and Agnes. She was the loving sister of Delia (Danny).

Cherished mother of Elaine (Mike), Diane (Scott), and John (Sue), and a loving member of Colin’s family, Shelly (Rob), Colleen (Mike), Dean, Scott (Marilyn) and their families.

Much loved grandmother to Katie, Jamie (Sarah), Gillian, Jennifer (Fil and Mila), and Steve.

Beloved Auntie to Dorothy, Laura, Agnes and William. Great-auntie and friend to many.

Jenny was creative and resourceful from a young age and became a talented seamstress. She loved music, dancing, laughter, and having fun. She was always ready to dance and had a wonderful zest for life. Her warmth, humour, and beautiful smile could light up any room.

Jenny’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of PRHC’s Palliative Care Ward, especially Thomas, for their compassionate care and for keeping Jenny comfortable during her final days.

Jenny will be remembered with love, laughter, music, and dancing, and will be forever missed.
