Jensena "Jean" Jensen Coones

Peacefully with her family at her side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, December 25, 2014 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Maxwell Coones. Loving mother of Bob (late June), the late Oscar, survived by Loretto (Steve) and David (Dianna). Proud grandmother of Grant, Carol-Ann, Cindy (Ron), Angela (Kelly), Jason, Thomas (Racheal), Ben, Spencer (Meghan), Katie (Craig), Randi (Scott), and the late Shauna, and great-grandmother of Andrew, Alexandra, Reilly, Julia, Jessica, Peyton, Mary, Danielle (Bryan), Max, Grace, Jensena, Hunter and Hannah. Jean was the last of Hans and Katrina’s Viking clan. Jean was predeceased by her siblings Pete, Clara, Pete, Tina, Jens, Tovel, Anna, Harda, Meta, Stena, Franz, Isaac, William, Ivan, Hjalmar and Fred. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Born in Blind River, Ontario, Jean worked at the Churchill Restaurant, before running the tourism booth at the Liftlock. The family will receive friends at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Monday, December 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Followed by cremation. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Douro. In honour of Jean, donations can be made to a foodbank of your choice or Five Counties Children’s Centre.
