Passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Friday, September 4, 2026 at the age of 98.
Beloved husband of Paula Banister (née Leonard) for over 42 years.
Loving father of the late Jean (the late Terry Hosford), the late Jeffry (survived by Kelly), Theresa (Chris James) and daughter-in-law Wendy.
Also predeceased by his first wife, Norma (nee Reynolds) and his parents Geoph and Doris.
Proud grandfather of Amanda, Amy (Dave) Mallary, Carsen (Emily), Andrea (Dan) and great-grandchildren Will (Kate), Alyssa, Kieran, Ronan, Rowan, Poppy and Addison; and great-great-grandchildren Myla and Brody.
John was a builder, and former owner/operator of Chemong Marina. John will be missed by his friends and neighbours.

A Graveside Service will be held at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, 2551 Whittington Drive, Peterborough on Tuesday September 22nd at 11:00 a.m
Reception to follow at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Rd., Peterborough from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
