John MacKenzie Buchanan

May 7th 1941 - September 26th 2023

Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 82 due to complications from recent heart attack and stroke.

John was a Retired Metro Toronto Police Officer with 28+ years of service. Following retirement from the Police force John fulfilled a long-time dream of his to own a campground. Together John and Marion owned and operated Cedar Lodge in Cloyne Ontario for over 20 years before retiring from their retirement.

Husband to Marion for 60 years. Dear father to Iain (Lisa), the late Derek, the late Robert (Kate), and Mira (Joerg).

Grandfather of Andrew (Ashlee), Matthew, Cameron, Portia, Jace, and Mason. Great Grandfather of A. and A.

Brother of the late Michael (Stephanie). John will be missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cremation has taken place.

A visitation to take place on Sunday October 22nd from 1 to 2 PM, then a Service at 2 PM followed by a time of fellowship and light refreshments all at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough.
