John, I only met you 3 times over a 2 week period. You and your family will stay in my thoughts forever. My visit to Canada from Australia is so very memorable. Thank you for being part of it. 🙏

John was working in the Community Services Unit when I joined the Service as a civilian member in 2014. I was very uncertain about working with police, especially since, as a gay man, not all my interactions with police were positive growing up in Toronto. John was an amazing mentor, friend, and ally. He always had my back and was quick with a smile or laugh. He was always happy to talk about his family which he did with love, respect and pride!

My role was to enhance community relations and quickly learned this was a huge passion of John's. He was an awesome human being and I will never forget his kindness and dedication to community service.

We are so profoundly saddened and offer our deepest condolences to Tania, Ella and the entire Earle family for the loss of Johnny. 
We hold on dearly to memories of John during an Earle gathering , or a 
Torrie and Jen house move with painting party! His laugh was infectious. His adoration for his family profound, and obvious to anyone. He was a kind, generous man who we looked forward to seeing on any occasion.

We met & knew John from our college days and even back then were drawn to his kind, courtesy & friendly way in which he carried himself. John always wore his uniform with pride and was one of the most caring, compassionate, respectful and responsible people I ever worked with. It was such a pleasure to know and work with John. We were a good team. Although he was dedicated to his work as an officer, his dedication to Tanya and Ella superseded all. Our hearts go out to the MacLeod Family. Although we only knew John briefly - we know from the many family stories how special he was. He will be sorely missed.

I am sure there are very few words that can ease the sorrow the family and colleagues of John MacLeod are feeling. 
During the time he was granted, John lived a productive and fulfilling life.  John loved and and was loved.  His life had purpose, and I'd say his life and deeds are very worthy of celebration.  I offer my condolences to both his family and colleagues during this time of bereavement.

I had many interactions with John on calls when I was with the Fire Department. He was always the same; fair, courteous and respectful to all involved and he did it all with a smile. 
His family,the Police Service and all those that knew him have lost a real gem.

I met John many years ago when he and Tania invited me into their home to stay with Ella. Ella has been the most incredible friend a girl could ask for. I will miss John with all my heart and will cherish this picture forever. He treated me like his own daughter and for that I will be forever grateful❤️ Rest Easy John, thank you for everything 

I always felt a sense of joy when I saw John. We worked together often and spoke regularly about things with meaning. He didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone and in policing that was a refreshing change. His curiosity about life, love, and destiny was always insightful and he had a depth that truly made me believe he was an old soul. He cared so much about how everyone felt and his genuine compassion and vibe of kindness was always a bright spot in my day. There are very few men as raw and unafraid of their vulnerability as he was. It was an endearing quality and knowing him in this way made me a better man. I simply can’t covey the sadness I felt when I heard he had passed. The world has lost an angelic being who truly sacrificed for a greater good and stepped way outside of his comfort zone to put on a uniform and remain true to his intrinsic nature. To say he was rare is an understatement. I know that John (wearing two pairs of socks) and his father will be in number one dress watching over us all- especially his wife and daughter who were without a doubt the absolute loves of his life.
