After a long illness, Barry Winning passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026 surrounded by his devoted family and the music that he loved. He was 87 years old.
Barry was a consummate gentleman to the very end of his life. He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his calm, gracious nature, amazing sense of humour, his dry wit as well as his exceptional golfing ability and his dedication to his profession as a Radiologist with X-Ray Associates in Richmond Hill and Newmarket.
Barry exuded a composed, stoic dignity and reserve which belied his capacity for delightfully silly playfulness, especially with his family.
He will be sorely missed by Kathy, his daughters Ashley (Elaun) and Meredith (Collin), his beloved grandchildren Asher, Erez, Ayla and Oren, his sister-in-law Joan (Garry) and brother-in-law Robin as well as his nieces & nephews Paul, Sally, Christopher, Carolyn, Michael and Matthew, his many grandnieces & nephews and his family in Scotland, England and his birthplace, South Africa.
His family is very grateful to Canterbury Gardens for the always compassionate care that he received there and also to Hospice Peterborough for their warmth and kindness.
