November 13, 1949 – July 24, 2025
It is with deep sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of our dear lifelong friend, Joe Clark. Predeceased by his parents Catherine Anne (Walsh) and Neil Clark, and brother John Clark. He is survived by his beloved best friend Joanne Robertson, nieces Erin (Glenn) Todd, Kerri Clark and Jenna Clark, great niece and nephews Linden and Aiden Todd, Emma and Ewan MacHattie. Brother Pat Clark and beloved cousins.
To those who knew him, Joe was a gentle soul—a quiet but constant presence whose compassion touched everyone he encountered. Whether offering a listening ear or showing up exactly when needed, he embodied the rare kind of friendship that only deepens with time. He never sought the spotlight but carried light with him wherever he went.
Joe’s love of music was one of his greatest passions. From vinyl records to live concerts, he could always be counted on to share a new song, revisit an old favourite, or dive into a conversation about lyrics and artists. His deep knowledge of artists, albums, and genres wasn’t just impressive, it was inspiring. He taught many of us not just how to hear music, but how to feel it. He passed on this love of music to his niece Kerri, and to many others who came to appreciate melody in a whole new way through him.
Equally central to Joe’s life was his love of sports. A devoted fan of minor hockey and MLB. He enjoyed talking about his favourite team, the Atlanta Braves, memorable games, and standout players. Joe found joy in the simple pleasures of the game, whether watching minor hockey from the stands, or listening to a ball game. He brought the same joy to family and friend gatherings, phone calls with friends, and casual chats over coffee.
He leaves behind a circle of friends, among them his dear friend Jim McWilliams, who were lucky to have shared decades of laughter, great conversations, and quiet moments with him. His legacy lives on in every song that stirs a memory and every moment when kindness prevails.
We will miss him more than words can express—but we carry his spirit forward, like the soft echo of a favorite tune.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday August 28, 2025, at 12:30pm at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 870 High Street, Peterborough, ON. A reception will follow at Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Road.
In Honour of Joe's memory, donations can be made to One Roof Community Centre of Peterborough or a charity of your choice.
