Anne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ken Grady Sr. She also leaves behind her children: Ken Grady Jr. (Pam) and their children Emily, Kenny, and Nick; Tony Grady (Kelli) and their children Allie and Josie; and Cheryl Fitzpatrick (Joe) and their children Lucas and Lia. She is also survived by her sister Carole (Bob) Rogers and her brother Steve (Jan) Thibadeau. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and Verna Thibadeau.
Anne spent much of her career in Human Resources at Genpak (formerly known as Purity Packaging), where she was respected for her efficiency, sharp mind, and no-nonsense approach. She valued honesty, kept things practical, and had a wit that left an impression on those who knew her well.
While she wasn’t one for big displays of sentiment, Anne had her favourite things: curling up with a bowl of popcorn and a romance novel, crocheting, painting, listening to music, and sipping a glass of Bailey’s. From the back porch of her home in Mallard’s Bay, she loved watching the storms roll in over Pigeon Lake just as much as she appreciated its breathtaking sunsets. She enjoyed curling, researching her ancestry, and, despite not being overly fond of camping, spent many summers at Woodland Campground, where she loved campfire singalongs with family and friends. Most of all, she cherished spending Christmas with those closest to her.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Peterborough for the exceptional care Anne received.
As per Anne’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A private gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF), or Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
