Joyce Kathleen Watson (née Clattenburg)

October 19, 1957 – July 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathy Watson, who passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 68.

Kathy was known for her quick wit, infectious sense of humour, and spirited personality. She could make people laugh with ease and was never afraid to speak her mind. Beneath her strong exterior was a caring heart that loved deeply and fiercely.

Kathy had a lifelong love of animals and held a special place in her heart for every pet she owned. She is now reunited with her beloved dogs, Sunny, Gizmo, and Bear, who brought her so much love and companionship throughout the years.

Kathy was also incredibly creative and found great happiness through art. She loved creating beautiful pieces with her own hands, especially the butterflies she made from recycled pop bottles. She had a special gift for turning something ordinary into something beautiful, and her artwork will continue to be treasured by those who were lucky enough to have one of her creations.

She also loved camping, spending time outdoors, and making memories with the people she cared about.

Kathy leaves behind her loving children, Jacklyn (Glen), Kristy (Chris), and Randy (Amanda). She was a proud grandmother to Jordyn, Hayden, Owen, Hunter, Bentley, Marshall, and Nixon, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her dear friends Bev, Liane, Cathy, Deanne, Judy, and Karen, whose friendships with Kathy spanned more than 50 years.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Doris and William Clattenburg, and her sisters, Lynn Aubé and Celia Bullock. She is survived by her brother, Ken Clattenburg.

Kathy was a fighter in every sense of the word. She faced incredible health challenges throughout her life and beat the odds four different times. She never stopped wanting to live; she simply longed for a body that could keep up with the strength of her spirit. Her courage, resilience, and determination were a true reflection of who she was.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories Kathy leaves behind, the laughter she shared, the beauty she created, and the love she gave to both people and animals.
