Lucienne “Lucy” Angela (Leclerc) Wood, born May 7, 1944, in Hearst, Ontario, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 82. Lucy resided in Marmora, Ontario. She will be remembered with deep affection as a beloved presence whose kind heart, steady honesty, and hard-working spirit shaped the lives of those who knew her.
Through the years, Lucy built a life grounded in responsibility and integrity. She worked for Bell Canada, bringing diligence and reliability to her work and earning the respect of those around her. Away from work, she found joy in simple, shared pleasures—playing cards, horseshoes, and darts, embracing trailer life, and spending time fishing—moments that reflected her warmth and the quiet steadiness with which she met each day.
Lucy was the former wife of Edmund Noonan. She was predeceased by her husband, Myles Wood; her sisters Elaine Lunau (Ray), Roxanne Leclerc, Louise Dynes (Fred), and Lauranne Caron (Mark); and her brother Michael Leclerc (Linda).
Lucy is survived by her sons, Michael Noonan and Steven Noonan; her daughter, Nicole Noonan (Darryl Shaw); and her grandchildren, Alexandra Saunders, Dylan Saunders, and Mathew Saunders. She is also survived by her sisters Linette Landry, Rochelle Leclerc, Gwen Jewel (Allan), Valerie Johnston (Pavlo), and Dorothy Tasker (David), and by her brother Jim Johnston. Lucy was loved and adored by many nieces, nephews and great nieces, and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON, K9H2A2, Canada, on May 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
Visitation will take place at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON, K9H2A2, Canada, on June 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. An interment will follow at Fraserville Cemetery, Cavan-Monaghan, Ontario, ON, K9J 6Y3, Canada, on June 1, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
Lucy’s final resting place will be at Fraserville Cemetery & Chapel, 1128 County Rd 28, Fraserville.
