Margaret Elizabeth Fell Batley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother on Friday May 3, 2024, in her 87th year surrounded by her family at PRHC. Daughter of Frederick Edward Fell and Mildred Viola (nee Fife) and step daughter of John Ainsworth. Margaret is survived by her five children: Cathy Maljevac (Drago), Jane, Todd (Corinne McDonald-Brown), Charlene Villenuve (Wayne MacMillan), and Jamie (Angela Ayotte). Predeceased by her son Wayne (Rolly) 2019, and son in law Harcourt Villenuve 2016. Loving Grandmother of 14 and Great Grandmother of 15. Margaret was the eldest sister of Gayle McIlmoyle d. (George d.), and Dwight Fell d. (Carolyn d.). She is survived by her sister Shirley Anderson (Edwin d.) She was Aunt Marg to 26 nieces and nephews and is predeceased by nephews David Anderson 2022 and Randy Mcilmoyle 2024.

Margie to family and friends, worked at CGE for over 40 years and was a past member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52 Ladies Auxiliary and the Wild Wind Dancers. In her spare time she loved to play bingo, listen to country music, and watch curling and Western movies. Her favourite singers were George Jones, Charley Pride and John Prine. Moms hands were always busy knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, and completing word search puzzles. Raising six kids was never easy but she made it look easy and she never complained. She was a strong women; some say she had nine lives, but it was well known that she used up fourteen of them. In memory of our Mom, please listen to some country music.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Extendicare Peterborough (Rose Terrace) for the amazing care she received by them. She was treated every day with love and care during her one year stay. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 5pm to 9pm at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52, 1550 Lansdowne St West Peterborough, On.
