Margaret Rose Hitchings, also known as Peggy, was born March 6, 1937, in Toronto, Ontario, and passed away March 17, 2026, at the age of 89. Peggy was a hard-working, spicy presence whose strength and spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She lived in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.

Peggy worked as a loans officer at TD Bank, bringing diligence and care to her work and to the people she served.
Peggy married Cecil on November 25, 1977. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: her late husband, Cecil; her late daughter, Sharon (Roy) Braybon; her daughter, Sandra Messina; her son, Craig Harris (May Lagura); and Grandchildren, Michael and Matthew (Sap),Robin (Steve) and Russell (Terry), Adam and Erik. Visitation will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, ON K9H2A2, on March 24, 2026, from 11:01 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow at Ashburnham Funeral Home & Reception Centre on March 24, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Committal Service will take place at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, 2551 Whittington Dr, Peterborough, ON K9J 0G5, on March 24, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Peggy’s final resting place will be at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, 2551 Whittington Dr, Peterborough.
