Marietta "Maida" Isobel Ormsby

Passed away peacefully at Pleasant Meadow Manor in Norwood on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 95 years of age. Predeceased by her husbands Roderick (Dick) Nailer and Eric Ormsby. Beloved mother of Rod (Judy) Nailer, Jim (Linda) Nailer, Stephen (Berna) Ormsby, Gwyneth McKay, Trader Selkirk (C.C.), Eric (Rose) Ormsby and the late Ann MacKay (Ernst). Loving grandmother of Tamara (Jason), Laurel (Eric), Sean (Nicole), Shea, Chelsea, Michael (Arlyn), Heather (Steve), Margaret (Paul), Amanda, Taylor (Brandon) & Connor. Marietta's great grandchildren are Mitchell, Emily, Thomas, Hunter, Lily, Nathan, Erica, Ita, and Damion. Marietta was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Florence and her siblings; Beryl, Murray & Lloyd. She worked at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in London retiring in 1975. Marietta created the most beautiful handwork and delicious Sunday family dinners. She was an active member of her local UCW during the time she lived at Stoney Lake. Marietta spent some of her later years on the west coast where she was a member of the Hornby Island community, traveling with her daughter and playing bridge with her friends. She recently moved back to Ontario, spending her last year in Norwood and we would like to thank the staff at Pleasant Meadow Manor for their thoughtful care. In keeping with Marietta’s wishes a memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the chapel of COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario, 705-745-4683.
