Passed away peacefully in her sleep the evening of Wednesday, December 17th, 2025. She was predeceased (in 2013) by her beloved husband, Leonhard; and more recently by her brother Dieter. She will be missed by her grandchildren and especially Brittney with whom she shared an extraordinary bond and to whom she was especially close. Marlies was well loved and cared for by her daughter-in-law Kelly with whom she also shared a cherished, strong, and loving bond. Her children Ella, Ragnar, and Harry, along with anyone who knew her well, will always remember Marlies' infectious laugh and her deep and abiding love of the countryside and all animals. The family is grateful and sincerely thanks those caregivers who helped look after Marlies at Riverview Manor, Princess Gardens, and previously at Applewood Manor. In lieu of a service or flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
