It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Hansen, who passed away on March 16, 1955.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was rooted in compassion, strength, and a deep love for others especially animals.
Mary worked as a Bylaw Officer for the City of Kawartha Lakes, where she took great pride in serving her community. She was known for her strong character, her sense of responsibility, and her willingness to stand up for what was right.
Her heart, however, belonged to animals. She had a special gift for caring for those who needed it most and rescued countless dogs and cats over the years, giving them safety, love, and a second chance at life. To her, they weren’t just animals they were family.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Kimberly, son-in-law Shaun, and her grandchildren Mariah, Rylynn, and Cali.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, her strength, and the way she loved fiercely will never be forgotten.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, both human and animal.
