

HOWITT, Mary Louise (Nichols) “Mary Lou” – Was peacefully called home on Thursday, November 3, 2016, with her family at her side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Mary of Peterborough, formerly of Apsley, in her 90th year. Mary Lou, beloved wife of the late Jim Howitt, previously the late Stanley Boyle. Loving mother of Judy Covey (Rick) of Houston TX, Diana Lehman (late Frank), Brian Boyle (Jane), Edward Howitt (Savi), Bob Howitt (Shirley), James Howitt (Madeline), Mary Ellen Howitt (Les Dellow) and Pat Howitt (Sandy). Dear grandmother of 17 and “G.G.” of 19. Sister of Jean Hancock (late Frank), Lynda Ball (Don), David Nichols (Nancy) and the late Ruth Rexe (late John), Elizabeth Lillico (late Trevor) and Phil Nichols (late Pat). Mary will be fondly remembered by Gwen Howitt, Barb & Gord Campbell, Donna Gardner, many other relatives and friends, including the KPP Towerhill Community. A woman of prayer, who would start early, pray for hours, and include everyone in her prayers. She walked and talked with God daily. Mary Lou always put others before herself. A celebration of Mary Lou’s life will be held at the NEW LIFE CENTRE, 4014 Wallace Point Road, Peterborough, on Monday, November 7, at 2 pm with visiting one hour prior (1-2 pm).
