Mike was born in Berlin, Germany in 1945, and emigrated to Toronto with his mother (Elizabeth) in 1957. He was a loving husband to Mary (Carrigan) for 58 years, and a loving father to Craig (Terri). He was an especially devoted and adoring grandpa to his grandchildren Zachary, Leah and David, and was always thrilled to be with them. Mike was immensely proud of three defining events in his life; coming to Canada, marrying Mary, and working for Xerox. Mike was well aware of his blessings in life, and would share them often with others, whether with dear friends on the golf course, or at frequent family gatherings and celebrations. Mike was also an accomplished artist, avid reader, keeper of facts, wordsmith, and music lover. By God’s grace, Mike overcame addiction, and then strived to help others overcome theirs. Never shy of being the centre of attention, he will be missed by all those who spent time with him. The family will be holding private funeral and celebration of life arrangements, and is especially grateful to all the emergency first responders for their efforts and kindness.
